Heather Georgiou, artist

Heather was raised in Windsor, Ontario, and is now residing in Tecumseh, ON, with her husband.  Retired from working in engineering in the automotive industry for most of her career, she was looking for something more creative to enjoy.

Heather began painting after moving to a downsized home from her large home to accommodate 5 children.  None of her previous prints or "artwork" in the new space, living on Lake St. Clair waterfront property.  So began her journey of painting, so She would have appropriate pieces for her new home.  After a period of time, it became apparent that she had more paintings than wall space.

Heather is completely self-taught, except for a few courses while taking the interior design course, right out of high school, many years ago.

Much of her work depicts nature and women within the "Mother Universe" ideal.  Many paintings are of water, an integral part of our planet.  She does not conform to universal art standards, relying more on instinct and feeling to create a harmonious art piece.  Rather than recreate the same type of painting over and over, she works at learning new techniques, trying to continuously learn.
